As is traditional, the free technical updates will kick off at The Walled Garden in May before once again hitting the road and visiting 12 venues across Scotland.
I’ll be clocking up the miles at each event in a van organised through our fleet partners, Pike + Bambridge, so give me a wave if you see me out on the road!
As outlined in the previous edition of CABLEtalk, this year’s talks will see our experts deliver two presentations on the potential impact of Amendment 2 to BS 7671:2018:
Presentation 1: Overview of the main changes, including updates on arc fault detection devices, fire safety design of buildings, overvoltage protection and prosumer’s low voltage electrical installation.
Presentation 2: Changes to the certification given in Appendix 6 of Amendment 2.
With the amendment coming into effect on 28 March, there’s never been a better time to discuss its potential impact, with our Technical Advisers on hand to answer any other queries.
Bob Cairney, Director of Technical Services, said: “Our Technical team are currently putting the finishing touches to the Amendment 2 presentations, which will go into the changes and their impact in detail.
“I know how much Members look forward to these events and our Technical team are eager to make up for lost time and discuss Amendment 2 face-to-face with Members, along with many other topical issues.”
SELECT Associate Members including Megger, Scolmore, Aico and Electrium have been eager to book space for the events too, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to see the latest technology first-hand.
The day will kick off at 9.30am with coffee and morning rolls, with lunch provided at the end of each session. Goodie bags will also be handed out to each delegate, and COVID-19 health and safety measures will be in place at all times to help keep everyone safe.

Collect new regulations at your local event and save £19
