Course gets new airing

More domestic ventilation sessions are planned with Glen Dimplex after a great response from Members

Following some excellent feedback from Members, SELECT will be running more domestic ventilation training courses in 2020.

The next one-day session will be held in Glasgow in February, after the successful delivery of two courses at the SELECT Training Centre late this year.

Run in partnership with global experts Glen Dimplex, the course delivers information on relevant legislation and guidance to enable correct installation, inspection, testing, commission and handover of such systems in Scotland. It also includes several practical calculations for airflow requirements and measurement.

A SELECT certificate will be awarded on satisfactory completion of the course, which includes a short, open-book multiple-choice assessment.

The new date in Glasgow follows the first two successful sessions held at The Walled Garden in November, which saw an enthusiastic response from delegates.

Delegates on the course in November

Feedback included: “The course provided some great information. It was very hands-on, so the physical side of things, and seeing how the units actually worked, was great.”

Another delegate said: “It was excellent training – it was useful learning about testing requirements and there was plenty of handout information to refer back to.”

While other comments included “very informative”, “good explanation of flow requirements” and “good trainer”.

SELECT Training Manager Jenny Cryans said: “We were delighted with the response to the first course and we are now planning further sessions to satisfy Member demand.”

The course is split into four modules and is presented by Craig Cundey, Head of Product Training at Glen Dimplex Heating. To book your place on the course, email training@select.org.uk or call 0131 445 5577. Places can also be booked on our website, www.select.org.uk
