Members enjoy Hampden spark at latest Toolbox Talk

Members flock to national stadium in Glasgow as technical update sessions with SELECT experts prove as popular as ever

Our Toolbox Talks have hit the road again for 2019 – and the mammoth 12-stop tour is already proving as popular as ever. This year’s hot topics include fire detection and alarm systems, Building Standards in Scotland and residual current device (RCD) selection, all delivered by a team of SELECT experts.

After kicking off in style with a packed session at our HQ outside Edinburgh on 7 May, the tour – which is free for Members – has so far visited the Borders, Dumfries, Dundee, Ayrshire, Inverness and Aberdeen.

Our photographer was also on hand to capture the action at the event at Hampden Park on 15 May, which attracted the usual wide range of directors, managers, company owners, employees and apprentices.

Afterwards, Alan Wilson, SELECT Managing Director, said: “Our technical team and industry partners, including SCTT and the SJIB, have put together a great programme that will help Members stay up to date.”

Space are still available for the final four dates as follows:

  • Oban – The Wide Mouthed Frog, Tuesday 11 June

  • Isle of Islay – The Bridgend Hotel, Wednesday 12 June

  • Orkney – The Pickaquoy Centre, Tuesday 18 June

  • Shetland – The Lerwick Hotel, Wednesday 19 June.

As well as technical presentations and discussions about topical trade matters, the Talks feature an exhibition with companies including Martindale, Scolmore, Aurora, Aico and ECIC.

This year’s events also feature digital ‘voting’ technology that has proved popular during discussions.

To book, email memberservices@select.org.uk or call 0131 445 5577.
